OnSide

OnSide is a youth charity that builds Youth Zones in the most disadvantaged areas in England. Fuller’s is one of the founder patrons of OnSide’s new youth zone, WEST, in West London – which opened in April 2024.

In 2019, Fuller’s donated an initial £150,000 to facilitate the building of WEST (‘Where Everyone Sticks Together’, named by local young people) and have committed to an ongoing partnership – leading to £30,000 a year being donated in the following years.

We are working with the team at WEST to offer cooking sessions to junior members, ages 8-12. This will see our chefs heading to WEST and teaching the young people simple cooking skills, providing an opportunity to not only support them by providing life skills, but potentially igniting an interest in cooking and inspiring the chefs of the future.

Handerline Morency, Sous Chef at The Plough in East Sheen, led a session with some of the junior members (ages 8-12) – bringing the flavours of Grenada to West London and teaching the young people how to make delicious Grenadian beef and cheese pasties.

Our Recruitment team have attended the first careers fair at WEST and spoke to the young people present about opportunities within the hospitality industry – whether that be in front or back of house, or in a Support Centre role. This also gave us the opportunity to discuss apprenticeships with them.

Fuller’s is committed to a long-term partnership with WEST Youth Zone and is looking for future opportunities to support it through volunteering, career opportunities and hospitality skills training.
